BLU operations in the area have met with horrific resistance from RED of late. Steps, as they say, had to be taken. When the intelligence reports last filched from under RED's nose indicated the RED team had concentrated vast quantities of infrastructure in a single location accessible by rail from an old, forgotten BLU listening post...

Well. Who are the BLU field operatives to ignore an opportunity dropped in their lap?

Time for some serious mayhem.

"Zee RED Base en Badwater Basin. I do not 'ave time to figure out 'ow to send you 'ome; we are about to be attacked. Ef we can keep zee BLUs from destroying our base, sough, I can talk to zee Engineer about et." Spy scowls, equally at her and the situation in general.

"En zee meantime, you are not safe dressed like zat."

A war zone. Great. Well, not the most ideal place to be stranded, but at least it's something familiar.

"I don't need armor. I can handle myself." She reaches for her pistol. "How much time have we got?"

"Nononon, you misunderstand me. Dressed like zat you will draw fire from both RED and BLU." He takes a moment to take a drag from his cigarette. "I would 'ave gutted you myself, but you mentioned zee Door. Et waz simple to put two and two togezzer."

And he'd rather not irritate the Milliways crowd just yet.

"You will 'ave to borrow someone's uniform while you are 'ere, and zee weapons zat go wis et." He enters the door to the TOP SECRET room, which turns out to be the rest of the locker room. There's a row of cubbies against one wall holding various states of dress, not to mention weapons.

"Tell me, what else are you good wis?"

Good question. "Well, I'm decent with a sniper rifle, and a shotgun," says Alyx thoughtfully as she looks over the array of outfits and weapons. "But I can use pretty much anything if I have to..."

"Hmm." Spy is looking at her thoughtfully. She's not as tall as Sniper; she'd end up swimming in his clothes, but...

"You look like you might be a fast runner. Why not try zee Scout's weapons? Scattergun, pistol, bat," he lists, pointing them out.

While she's looking at those, he'll dig out a clean Scout uniform. If he can find one.

She picks up the scattergun--it has a nice heft to it--and looks it over appreciatively. "I assume it's got a pretty good spread, with a name like that?"

"Equal to, ef not better zhan, zat of a shotgun," Spy answers, pulling out a plain red tee and dark brown trousers.

"'ere you are." He holds them out to her. "At least wear zee shirt; et will keep you safe from at least 'alf zee people outside."

Alyx nods and turns away from him. "Any idea what kind of force we're up against?" she asks as she strips off her jacket and shirt.

...wasn't expecting that. He's wishing there were a couple of mirrors in here. Nice.

Huh. She's survived being backstabbed, judging by those scars. How interesting.

"Your standard BLU forces, no doubt." He sneers as a takes a drag of his fag. "We've received Intel zat zhey 'ave plans to destroy our base via an old railway. Zhey will be escorting a payload; our job iz to make sure zhey never reach our base wis et. Ef you are injured, jus' call for zee Medic, or find a hells pack or zee Engineer's dispenser. Zhey will 'eal you en no time."

Let it never be said that a pretty girl distracted him from his job.

Eh, the view's not that spectacular. Despite what deviantART would have you believe, she's only a B-cup at most. In any case, she's too busy getting dressed to pay any attention to the eyes on her back.

"Can we block off the railway?" she asks as she pulls on the trousers. "Trigger a landslide or collapse a tunnel or something?"

He's been surrounded by men and a Pyro for god knows how long. He'll take what he can get.

"Non, sadly. We did not 'ave enough time to set anysing up. Zee most we can do iz kill anyone trying to push zee bomb. Zey only 'ave until zee ceasefire to succeed, so at least we do not 'ave to 'old zhem off forever."

"Got it." Alyx pulls the red shirt on. "So my job is to go out in front and report back on their position?"

"En zis situation, not so much. We already know zhey are 'ere and zat zhey will stay near zheir cart."

He gives her a mischievous little smile. "Razzer, feel free to do as much damage as possible. Zee faster we can kill zhem, zee better, non?"

"Okay. Anything else I should know?"

"Notsing I do not sink you already know. Sough ef you see any REDs acting strangely, be careful. Zhey may be zee BLU Spy en disguise. I would demonstrate but my disguises only fool zee ozzer team, I'm afraid."

To her they'd just look like a silly paper mask.

"Zee siren will be sounding soon. I would suggest taking what little time we 'ave left to familiarize yourself wis zee terrain."

Alyx nods, resolute. "I'm on it."
