BLU operations in the area have met with horrific resistance from RED of late. Steps, as they say, had to be taken. When the intelligence reports last filched from under RED's nose indicated the RED team had concentrated vast quantities of infrastructure in a single location accessible by rail from an old, forgotten BLU listening post...

Well. Who are the BLU field operatives to ignore an opportunity dropped in their lap?

Time for some serious mayhem.

"Yes," Teja says, nodding tersely.

Finish healing, replace the two rockets he has fired, move on.

The real BLU Pyro's down and out, thanks to that Scout, and the Soldier and Medic are standing still?

Spy could not ask for a better opportunity.

The BLU Spyro trots casually forward, disguise breaking only when his knife stabs out towards the Medic's back.

Teja turns, sees somebody stab the Medic in the back, and swings his shovel around, aiming for the backstabbing figure.

Crapcrapcrap. This is precisely why you attack when their attention is captivated elsewhere.

The RED Spy takes the hit and staggers back, cloaking as he does so. It takes a full second for it to conceal him completely and he has no qualms about fleeing back down the tunnel, hugging the right wall.

As soon as he's disappeared proper, though, he steps to the left and starts working his way back towards Teja.

"Are you well?" Teja asks the Medic, keeping on reloading the rocket launcher, and the shotgun, as he is at it.

That's not really going to work. The thing about backstabs is that the Spy has learned to make them... well, pretty much instantaneously lethal.

Medic's busy respawning; it might take a while before he gets back to the rest of the group. Better watch out, guys.

Spy carefully moves to the back of the soldier, keeping his footsteps quiet.

It's a BLU Medic that drops out of cloak behind him, just in case Teja turns around before he can stab.

"You are well, then?" Teja says, seeing the Medic reappear.

Spy freezes for a moment. The man saw him decloak and isn't trying to kill him?

Must be from Milliways. He's starting to like that bar more and more.

"Ja, ja, I vill be fine. I chust need to rest a moment." The Medic leans against the wall a bit.

"Vhy don't you scout ahead a bit und make sure zee vay iz clear?"

Teja nods at him, then moves on ahead, to secure the way for the Heavy with the cart.

Oh, this is too easy. He loves it!

~~Spy~~Medic follows along behind the soldier, grinning from ear to ear.

It may be worth noting at the moment that the following situation has occurred:

- Mia fell in battle and was, as any other BLU fighter, respawned.
- Mia headed for the heat of battle at top speed.
- Medic fell shortly thereafter and was also respawned.

Medics are faster than Pyros; it's a simple fact of nature. Possibly something to do with that suit the Pyros have to wear. The difference is enough that a determined Medic can catch up with a comrade spawned just before him and inform that comrade of the appropriate procedures for spy-checking. Which this particular Medic has done.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programme...

Mia doesn't hesitate when she sees the other Medic behind Teja and fires.

No apologies this time. The one type of person Mia Ausa can't stand is a liar.

Teja hears the sound and whips around, shotgun at the ready.

Spy appears to have burst into flames.

"Fire, fire, fire!" Shrieks a man who suddenly sounds nothing at all like a German. He still looks like a BLU Medic, but there's a distinctly RED glow about him.

Okay, time to cut his losses and get the hell out of here. He cloaks and runs for the end of the tunnel, knowing he can put the flames out if he can reach the medpack up ahead.

The trick is getting that far with no one firing at his flaming silhouette.

Paffitapaffitapaffitapaff! goes the sudden stream of needles from behind Teja.

"You have thirty seconds to live," says a very disgruntled German. Gott in Himmel, he hates it when they try to get away with wearing his face.

Medic's face is just as good as anyone else's.

Spy doesn't even last another five seconds, though, as being needled, shovelled, and flamed just isn't good for one's health.

The cloak abruptly snaps off as the man stumbles and falls to the dirt with a groan, still gently burning.

The Medic prods the burning corpse with one toe and then looks to the others. "Vot are you vaiting for?" he demands. "Ze tunnel needs clearing und ze cart requires pushing! Herr Heavy cannot do all ze vork himself! Raus, raus!"

Mia nods and sends an air blast through the next tunnel before pressing on.

"Sank you," says the Medic, and progress can now properly be made.
