BLU operations in the area have met with horrific resistance from RED of late. Steps, as they say, had to be taken. When the intelligence reports last filched from under RED's nose indicated the RED team had concentrated vast quantities of infrastructure in a single location accessible by rail from an old, forgotten BLU listening post...

Well. Who are the BLU field operatives to ignore an opportunity dropped in their lap?

Time for some serious mayhem.

As soon as Teja falls, Mia is over there to take on the Demo with a compression blast upon his next launch of explosives.

The Heavy, meanwhile, has started singing. It's not pretty, and it's certainly not quiet, but it's what was used back in Mother Russia to get people moving and keep them moving. And if that's not a good reason, than nothing is.

It sounds just like this.

The song, alas, is rudely interrupted by the echoing CRACK of a sniper rifle being fired.

The BLU Medic never saw it coming.

"Vhere is team?" the Heavy cries. "Must kill leetle Sniper and push tiny cart!"

Luckily, the not-quite-siren call is heard, and a freshly-respawned Engineer comes barreling out to the tunnel.

"Got a job to do, ole buddy! Gonna fix you up with a teleport and a dispenser! Just watch my back, got it?"

The grenades fly back towards the Demoman, exploding at his feet. The man staggers, firing a grenade at his feet and sending his pieces to oblivion.

This is why you don't drink and play with explosives, folks.

The Heavy and Medic are in range now, though, and the big Russian spins up and opens fire, laughing.

The BLU Engineer wails on his creations with abandon, until both the dispenser and the teleport are standing tall.

The Heavy grunts when he sees his counterpart spinning up, but luckily there's a Medic coming up from the respawn in time, working up an uber.

"Herr Heavy! How are da front lines holding up?" he asks, before switching to heal the Engineer with his medigun.

He'll have to wait a moment to answer, as there's a RED Heavy and Medic duo coming towards them. Mia rushes up.

"Cover me!" is the muffled sound from under her mask as she goes to take out the RED Medic first.

That's weird. Why is everything kind of blue? And she feels more than fit to take both REDs out?

She doesn't stop firing, but she does briefly notice the BLU Medic. So that's how he's covering her!

He's being smart about it, too, charging ahead to draw their fire so Mia's free to take care of them.

"Zhere is a sentry up ahead! We should move to take care of it vonce zhey are taken care of!"

The Engineer's started building a little further back from the tunnel after he'd been killed the last time. Directly across from the first checkpoint is a little alcove, protecting the sentry, teleporter, and dispenser from death from above. Unfortunately, the close quarters makes it perfect for a Pyro to flame everything to death.

"Dagnabbit!" the RED Engy exclaims as the ubered duo come around the corner. He's already falling back, knowing a lost cause when he sees it.

The poor sentry's only level 2. It doesn't even have rockets to push them back with, yet.

Aw, too bad about the Engineer, but Mia can still roast the RED Soldier that just came through the teleporter.

"How's the cart?" Mia mumbles towards the BLU Medic, hoping he heard and understood her.

"Almost to ze checkpoint!" exclaims the Medic, indicating the spot up ahead. "Ve haf but to put forth a little more effort und ze first stage is ours!"

Unfortunately, that means that BLU Team is out of the shadow of the tunnel, and in Alyx's sights.

CRACK. CRACK. CRACK.

"Sniiiiiiperrrrrr!" bellows the Heavy, staying behind the cart.

Most of the people within range hear Heavy's bellow. The nearest BLU Engineer, however? Not so fortunate.

"Uggh!"

And there's one less Texan.

Damn, all the BLUs are out of sight now. Hm. Maybe...

CRACK. Then, ptang! as the shot ricochets off of the fuselage of the bomb in the cart.

And does, alas for the sniper, absolutely nothing.

Which must be especially galling given the sudden ding! from the unseen speakers and the woman's voice announcing, "BLU has been awarded additional time."

Alas, BLU Team is too far away to hear the stream of invective Alyx just let out.

The door to the building next to the point rolls open, offering a new route. The tracks keep going straight before hanging a left around the corner.

Around the corner and down a ways most of RED waits. The Engineers have set up new sentries on the roof to the left, the track is lined with sticky bombs, and the Soliders, Heavies, and Pyros are just waiting for targets to show themselves.

They're not giving up this point without a fight.

Tyler, like all sensible sorts, has managed to tuck himself behind one of the sentries. When things start happening?

Then is the time for cloaking and playing a round of 'pin the knife on the pyro' and hope your own side doesn't kill him with stray fire.

Sam is totally going to kill him over this.

"On it!" shouts a Bronx-accented voice from over the crest of the hill. The BLU Scout's completely unfazed by any RED presence up here, frankly. It'll be a miracle if the RED Sniper gets her gun around to face him in time, and in his experience, miracles tend to favor him.

That building's lookin' mighty fine right about now. He's aiming for a dead run through the ground floor to be followed by a bolt up the exterior staircase, at which point he gets to lay waste to the sentries on the roof with his bat. Of course, that all relies on him getting there alive, doesn't it?

Teja had been killed briefly, earlier, and now comes running from the respawn room, rocket launcher over his shoulder, eager to rejoin his team.

Alyx's sniping experience has generally been against slow-moving targets which were incapable of knowing that they were being shot at. If she manages to hit the BLU Scout at all, it's purely by chance.

"Son of a--!"

Scout, we should note, is an inveterate show-off in addition to his supreme overconfidence. "Yeah, come get some, you frickin' wuss!" he shouts gleefully in the Sniper's direction. He's still running, a zigzag pattern back and forth designed to irritate anyone shooting at him into missing. "Who wants some of this!?"

Teja catches up with the other BLU fighters.

"Excuse my temporary death," he says. "There is somebody up there!"

He launches a rocket at the vague direction of where somebody had been shooting at his skinny comrade from.

"Shit--!" Alyx ducks down out of sight, but she can feel the structure shake from the impact of that rocket.

She stands back up and fires at the Soldier. CRACK.
